Katherine B Brett (1910-1994). Katherine "Betty" Maw was a noted athority on costume and textile studies. She was born in Hull, Yorkshire, England ... The familiy immigrated to Canada in 1912, settling in Toronto ... in 1938 she joined the Royal Ontario Museum as a draughtsman ... In 1945 she returned to the museum, joining the staff of the textile department, where she worked closely with Gerard Brett (1915-1968), head of Art and Archeology. The two married in 1948. Two years later Betty became curator for the Textile Department
