Founded 28 Apr 1977, on signature of an agreement by the Governments of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, as a special body under the aegis of E-XE4177 - United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Agreement entered into force 10 Feb 1978. Centre operational early 1979. Statutes registered in 'UNTS 1/16434'. Dissolved 1 Jan 1995.
