American Welding Society. Committee on Definitions and Symbols

The Committee on Symbols and the Committee on Definitions and Chart of the American Welding Society merged to form the AWS Committee on Nomenclature, Definitions and Symbols. Subsequently, its name was changed to AWS Committee on Definitions and Symbols; in 1973 to AWS Committee on Definitions, Symbols, and Metric Practice. In 1978 the Committee divided into the AWS Committee on Definitions and Symbols and the Committee on Metric Practice
