Créée en 1937 sous le nom de "Service Romand d'Informations Agricoles" (SRIA). En 1967 à une restructuration complète. CRIA, "Centre romand d'informations agricoles", puis "Centre romand d'informations en agriculture et alimentation" (1971-1976). Nouveau et dernier développement avec le "Centre romand d'informations en agriculture et alimentation, nature, environnement, santé" (1977-1996).
