Merken, Stacie

is the Chair and Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and a Senior Mosaic Faculty Fellow at Indiana University South Bend. As a Criminologist, Victimologist, and Generalist in her field, she researches multiple areas including but not limited to media misrepresentations/myths of victims/offenders and crime, violent offenders (serial killers, mass murderers, and spree killers), victim-offender relationships, stalking, intimate partner violence, cold cases, prison subculture, gender and crime, and queer criminology. Dr. Merken’s work is published in various mediums (peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, edited books, and national blog forums), and she has been interviewed nationally and internationally regarding serial killers, correctional issues, and gun violence.
