Holland, Melanie M.
is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Kennesaw State University. Her research expertise is concentrated on the contextualization of sentencing outcomes. Dr. Holland’s previous research has explored differential patterns in sentencing disparities according to race, ethnicity, gender, and nationality, as well as various intersecting identities. Additionally, her research highlights how these sentencing gaps fluctuate throughout time, across geographic regions, and according to societal attitudes. Her work has appeared in a variety of well-respected scholarly journals including Punishment & Society, Women and Criminal Justice, Race and Justice, and The Journal of Ethnicity in Criminal Justice, among others.
