Gomes, Hugo

is a Fulbright Scholar, an Invited Professor at the School of Criminology - University of Porto, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Human Development and Violence Research Centre (DOVE – Federal University of Pelotas) where he investigates the development of criminal and violent behavior on the Pelotas Birth Cohort Studies. He holds a PhD in applied psychology from the University of Minho, in collaboration with the Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge. His main research interests are in research methods, developmental and life-course criminology, and experimental criminology. He was awarded the 2020ʹs Student Paper Award by the Division of Experimental Criminology of the American Society of Criminology (ASC).
