Stapenhurst, Rick

1948

Professor of Practice at McGill Univ.; former board member of Parliamentary Centre and current board member of Transparency International and the Research Committee of Legislative Specialists; joined the World Bank in 1995/6 and concentrated on anti-corruption and parliamentary development

Before joining the World Bank, ... worked at the Canadian International Development Agency, most recently as the Director of the Multilateral Development Banks unit and before that as head of aid for Canada’s development assistance program at the Canadian Embassy in Addis Ababa; He lived in Ethiopia ; also worked as a sessional lecturer in international business at McGill and in international marketing at both the Univ. of Ottawa and at McGill Univ.

The thesis for his PhD from Australian National University was “Legislative Oversight and Curbing Corruption: Presidentialism and Parliamentarianism Revisited”; the thesis for his DBA from International Graduate School was “Political Risk Analysis in Canadian and U.S. Based Multinational Corporations”

Doctorates in both Business and Commerce (from Australian National Univ., 2011) and in Business Administration (from the International Graduate School, 1988), and Master’s degrees in both Business Administration (York Univ.) and Development Studies (Carleton Univ.)
