Public Fellow des ACLS (American Council of Learned Societies) bei New America; senior editor for ideas and planning at CNN Opinion; she has an AB in English, creative writing, and the study of women and gender from Princeton University; she also has MFA and MA degrees from Columbia University and the University of Virginia, respectively, and a PhD in English from New York University; from 2009 to 2012 she was a program associate for a collaboration between New York University and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and was a convener for the Colloquium in American Literature and Culture and the Workshop in Archival Practice
