"Ruth Abbott is fellow, lecturer, and director of studies in English at St John’s College, Cambridge, and an affiliated lecturer in the Cambridge English Faculty. She teaches literature and criticism from the 17th century to the present day. Before arriving at St John’s, she did her BA, MPhil, and Ph. D. at Clare College, Cambridge, was a visiting fellow at Cornell University, and worked as a Lecturer and Research Fellow at Worcester College, Oxford. She has published articles in The Cambridge Quarterly, Memory Studies, and Textual Practice, and is currently completing a book, Wordsworth’s Notebooks, on the early manuscript notebooks in which Wordsworth worked on ’The Ruined Cottage’ and The Recluse
