actor and director, known for Conscience and the Constitution (2000), The Taming of the Shrew (1976) and Emergency! (1972); Abe was a senior reporter for KIRO Newsradio, the CBS Radio affiliate in Seattle; helped found the Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association; and served as communications director for King County executives Gary Locke, Ron Sims (as an aide), Dow Constantine, and the Metropolitan King County Council; he has been published in Frontiers of Asian American Studies, Amerasia Journal, Bloomsbury Review, International Examiner, Nichi Bei Weekly, Rafu Shimpo, and Pacific Citizen
