Cullington, J. Donald

independent scholar, Dunedin, New Zealand; read Classics at the University of Cambridge and then pursued a musical career as a performer and teacher, gaining a doctorate at the University of Edinburgh in 1974 and becoming the University of Ulster’s first Head of Music in 1984; retired from full-time teaching in 1997 to spend more time on research; has edited and translated various works on musical and religious subjects dating from the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries
