Filmon, Gary

1942

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering form the University of Manitoba in 194, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1967. After several years as a consulting engineer, he invested in a number of small business, and owned two business colleges. Served for four years on Winnipeg's City Council, followed by twenty-one years as a member of the Manitoba Legislature, including eleven and a half years as premier of Manitoba. After leaving public office, he served as a director of eigth corporate boards, chairing two, along with a number of public and volunteer organizations. In particular, he served as a member and chair of Canada's Security and Intelligence Review Committee
