FRANCO MANCINI received an M.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences in 1989 from the University of Rome, Italy, and a Ph.D. degree in Geology and Mineralogy from the University of Turku, Finland, in 1996. He has been involved in various studies of regionally metamorphosed Ni-Cu ore deposits, including the effects of hydrothermal alteration and the remobilization of sulfides. His research interests also include crystal chemistry as a tool to characterize the effects of metamorphism on ore deposits.
