Foote, Wilder
1905–1975
Wilder Foote (b. August 30, 1905, Montrose, Pennsylvania-d. February 14, 1975, Camden, Maine), newspaper writer and editor and government official with the Office of Emergency Management and Office of War Information. He served as special assistant to Foreign Economic Administrator in 1944 and 1945, then assistant to the Secretary of State in 1945, and as an officer of U.S. Misson to United Nations from 1945 to 1947. He was the director of press and publications for the United Nations from 1947 until his death in 1975
