His areas of research include practical ethics, ethics, political philosophy, and philosophy of law. He had practiced as a barrister-at-law in Hong Kong before teaching at the Colorado College, and is now Professor in the Department of Philosophy, and Deputy Director at the Centre for Bioethics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong
