Vissel, Jozef

Jozef Vissel (b. 1935), photographer, is best known for his 1965 portrait of architect Jørn Utzon, in the National Portrait Gallery collection. Born in Holland, Vissel is a Holocaust survivor whose parents died in Auschwitz. He began his career in Amsterdam as an apprentice to a leading commercial photographer before working in England.
