Pittaki, Zoi

"I am a Lecturer in Creativity and Entrepreneurship and currently a Visiting Professor in Economic History at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy (from 2018). Prior to joining Brunel I held research, lecturing, teaching and supervision positions at the University of Glasgow, Adam Smith Business School and the School of Social and Political Sciences, as well as at the University of Strathclyde, Strathclyde Business School. I got my PhD in 2017 from the University of Glasgow, Economic and Social History. My thesis explored the impact of the tax system on business in post-Second World War Greece and proposed an extension to William Baumol’s theory on the interaction between institutions and entrepreneurship. My current research involves an examination of entrepreneurship’s contribution to the revamping of war-torn and crisis economies. Through my participation in international academic conferences I have established links with research centres and professional bodies in the UK and internationally, such as the European Group for Organisational Studies (EGOS), the European Business Business History Association (EBHA), the Economic and Business History Society (EBHS) and the Association of Business Historians (ABH)."
