Scholar of early modern English literature, focus on pan-Protestantism, intellectual history, book history, religion and literature, the Renaissance theater and the digital humanities, interested in hybrid and transnational identities in the period, especially those tied to religion and literary culture. Because of this, adoption ofwide, multilingual approaches that uncover ways in which Renaissance Europe, and indeed the early modern world, remained connected. Drawing on a range of interdisciplinary resources,he investigates how both alterity and belonging could take radically different, pre-modern forms, and he examines the intersections between English, Scottish, Dutch, and German literary history, the shared traditions and collaboration between English poets and Protestant poets on the continent
