Huwy-min Lucia Liu (PhD, Boston University, 2015) is an assistant professor in the Sociology and Anthropology Department, George Mason University. She is a social-cultural anthropologist with research interests in politics, religion, and economy in Sinophone societies. Her current work is on urban Chinese death ritual and Shanghai’s funeral industry.
