Bachelor of Arts degree at San Jose State University in 1989. Master of Divinity degree in 1993 from Talbot School of Theology. 1994 completed the Th.M. degree with a concentration in Philosophy of Religion. Holds a credential in English Literature from Chapman University. Has taught classes on the undergraduate and graduate level in New Testament, Systematic Theology and Theology and the Arts. An ordained pastor, he served for twelve years as a pastor at Grace Brethren Church in Long Beach, California ; Before coming to Torrey, served as pastor at Grace Brethren Church of Long Beach. His areas of research include theological aesthetics, political theology, theology and culture, secularization theory, fashion theory, and the Dutch statesman and theologian Abraham Kuyper
