Yeghiazarians, Yerem

He is the Leone-Perkins Family Endowed Chair in Cardiology and professor of medicine at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He serves as Director of the Translational Cardiac Stem Cell Program, Co-Director of the Adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Director of the Peripheral Interventional Cardiology Program, and previously served as the President of the San Francisco Board of the American Heart Association from 2013–2016. He has received numerous teaching awards and he is very active in the education of medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows at UCSF. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology/Biochemistry from Brandeis University (1991) and his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (1995). He trained in internal medicine, general and interventional cardiology at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he also served as chief medical resident prior to joining UCSF in 2003. He has a broad background in general cardiology, interventional cardiology and clinical/basic research, and has authored over 100 manuscripts and book chapters. He is also co-editor of Handbook of Endovascular Peripheral Interventions.
