Graduated from what is today Tallinn University as a craft teacher in 1986 and for the next 25 years worked in secondary schools as a craft teacher, initially in Suure-Jaani, but for the most part in her current hometown, Türi. She graduated in 2013 from University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy with an MA in Inherited Crafts and a thesis that focused on sock and stocking heels
