Liu, Andrew B.

Dr. Andrew Liu is an Assistant Professor of modern Chinese history at Villanova University. He received his Ph.D. in global and international history from Columbia University in 2014. His current manuscript, based upon his dissertation and entitled "Tea War: a history of capitalism in China and India", is under contract with Yale University Press. Dr. Liu was the recipient of Transregional Research Junior Scholar Fellowship, InterAsian Contexts and Connections, Social Science Research Council in 2016. Apart from his PhD he also holds a B.A. from Columbia University. His research interests include History of modern China, history of modern Japan, history of east Asia, history of capitalism and political economy, labor history, social and cultural history, intellectual history and historical theory.
