Sharma, Saumya

Saumya Sharma, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Contemporary English at the English and Foreign Languages University, Lucknow Campus. Her doctoral research is in the area of discourse analysis of drama. She has been a guest faculty at IIT Kanpur for a year, teaching a course on Composition and Communication Skills. She has published in the areas of English language teaching, stylistics and critical discourse analysis and has authored two books: Common Errors in Everyday English (Oxford University Press) and Language, Gender and Ideology: Constructions of Femininity for Marriage (Routledge). Her research interests include examining the discourse-psychology interface, particularly gender issues, vocabulary teaching and critical pedagogy.
