Chen, Huirong

Dr. Chen is an associate professor at the School of International and Public Affairs, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He holds LL.B. from Nankai University, M.A. from Peking University, and Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong. He used to be a civil servant in the Office of Letters & Visits of Chinese Communist Party Shanghai Municipal Committee and People’s Government of Shanghai Municipality. His Research Areas include Chinese Politics: institutions and strategies for governing China, social protests and state response, political economy of China`s development, state-peasant relations (with special reference to land tenure).
