Buckley, P. A.
Grew up in Riverdale in the Northwest Bronx, and received his BS from Columbia and PhD from Cornell. Always studying birds, he began with the behavioral genetics of Agapornis parrots but quickly shifted to colonially breeding waterbirds; Professor of Ecology/Oceanography at Old Dominion, Hofstra, and Rutgers Universities and the University of Rhode Island; the first Chief Scientist for the National Park Service's North Atlantic Region; and finally Senior Scientist (now Emeritus) with the US Geological Survey's Patuxent Wildlife Research Center
