Before studying Philosophy, studied Modern Languages and Literatures (Portuguese and French) and Literary Theory. Works mainly in aesthetics and the philosophy of art, in connection with metaphysics, ethics, epistemology, and the philosophy of language. Interest in metaphilosophy and in central debates about realism, properties, and truth. Lectured at the University of Algarve and the University of Lisbon and also taught at Cardinal Newman College in Preston, UK.
