Le Heup, Isaac
1686–1747
Sohn eines Hugenotten. Isaac le Heup (c.1686–1747) of Gunthorpe, Norfolk, was a British diplomat and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1722 and 1741. Envoy to the Diet at Ratisbon 1726-7; envoy to Sweden 1727; commissioner of customs 1741-2. He was connected by marriage to Horace Walpole who was his brother-in-law.
member for Cornish constituencies in the parliaments of 1722, 1727 and 1734. Sent in 1726 to support the cause of the allies of Hanover at Ratisbon he had been expelled from Germany in April 1727 in reprisal for the dismissal of the Austrian minister, Baron Palm, from London.
