Yin, Qingfei

Qingfei Yin is assistant professor of world and Chinese history at the Virginia Military Institute. Dr. Qingfei Yin teaches advanced courses in Asian History as well as a two-semester survey of World Civilization. As a historian of modern China and international relations of East Asia, her research focuses on the Sino-Vietnamese relations, China’s borderlands, and the Cold War in Asia. Before joining the VMI faculty, she received B.A. in International Politics at Peking University, MSc in International Affairs at London School of Economics, and Ph.D. in History at George Washington University. She is currently revising her dissertation “Confronting the Communist State: The Chinese-Vietnamese Land-Maritime Border during the Cold War, 1949-1979” for publication and serving as a member of the Society for Military History 2019 Conference Program Committee.
