Kumar, Mukul

Mukul Kumar is Associate Professor at the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), India. He has a Ph.D. degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. He is a development practitioner turned academic with vast experience on issues of poverty and livelihood affecting rural communities. He has published extensively in leading social science journals. Currently he is the managing editor of International Journal of Rural Management. He is the founding coordinator of the Centre for Rural-Urban Dynamics at IRMA. His research interests are poverty, public action, livelihoods, rural-urban linkages, rural transformation and social theory.
