Harlaut, Cécile

Cécile Harlaut holds a DEA (1999) and an MA (1998) from the Université de Bretagne – Rennes II (France). Both DEA- and MA-thesis were on the study of Alexandrian pottery production in the Ptolemaic period. She works since 1996 with the Centre d’Etudes Alexandrines (CNRS – France), and since 1997 with the Missione Archeologica Italiana ad Alessandria d’Egitto (Università di Torino – Italy), where she’s involved in field activities, conservation & restoration of the archaeological materials, study of the Ptolemaic pottery material from the CEAlex excavations (city center of Alexandria) and MAIA excavations (Nelson Island – Abukir). Her main research interests are the study of the material culture and funerary practices of Graeco-Roman Alexandria, based on the results of field archaeology and archaeometry.
