American ceramic artist, painter, writer and teacher ; also co-founder and proprietor of South Bear School (1970-), an innovative summer arts school (pottery, painting, poetry, et al.)

Bachelor and master degree at Iowa State Teachers College ; 1964 to 1986 art instructor at Luther College, there he developed a highly respected ceramics programm based on the teachings of Bauhaus potter Marguerite Wildenhain
