Director of the Physical Sciences Laboratory at the United Aircraft Corporation (1960-65) and President of the American Rocket Society (1960). Before joining the Stanford faculty, he was on the staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Space Technology Laboratories and a visiting professor at UCLA
