Ammaturo, Francesca Romana
Francesca Romana is interested in research concerning the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) persons, particularly in the European context. At the same time, she carries out research on LGBTI social activism across different national contexts (Western / Eastern Europe) and is developing a comparative analysis of Gay Pride parades across Europe. Simultaneously, she is interested in sociological and theological approaches to the study of the concept of "bodily integrity", particularly in relation to circumcision, female genital cutting (FGC), and intersex "normalising surgeries". In addition to this, Francesca Romana works on the intersections between the concepts of "European Citizenship" and "European Sexual Citizenship".
