Berg, Carin

Carin Berg received her doctoral degree in global studies at the University of Gothenburg. Her dissertation, entitled "The Soundtrack of Politics: A Case Study of Anashid in Hamas and Hizbullah," merges the academic fields of politics, music, and Islam to study how music is used as an essential political tool in Islamist organizations. She has also reviewed a number of publications within the field of Islamism and arts for the journals Terrorism and Political Violence and International Political Sociology.
