Jenssen, Toril Synnøve

pursued Social Science studies at the Interdisciplinarian Institute of the University of Tromsø; she finished in 1985. Employed by the University, 1986–1988. She received a scholarship from the Norwegian Council of Research, 1988–1991, including six months at the IMEREC (Institut Méditerranéen de Recherche et de Création), École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Marseille, France, and was permanently employed in 1991 as Associate Professor at Finnmark University College in Alta, Faculty of Business and Social Work. Her Ph.D. thesis was “Mediation in Focus. Visual Anthropology as a Tool for an Analysis of Reflexive Processes in the Modern Media Society.” Her field of research focuses on work in child and family protection, with special emphasis on the use of family counselling in foster work.
