After qualifying from Glasgow University in 1987, Paula trained as a GP. Following a move to Liverpool in 1993, she became a GP partner in a group practice. Whilst in General Practice she also worked as a Forensic Medical Examiner for Merseyside Police Force (1994 to 2012) and was the Named Doctor for Safeguarding Children for NHS Sefton (2006-2012). She leads the pregnancy advisory service for Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. Clinical Interests: Medical gynaecology including heavy menstrual bleeding, sterilisation, prolapse and incontinence, genital dermatoses, subfertility, menopause management, post menopausal bleeding, contraception and screening for sexually acquired infections.
