Sawangchot, Viriya

Viriya Sawangchot is an independent scholar based in Bangkok and has taught in the cultural studies program at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia in Mahidol University since 2009. He was API fellow (2013-2014) in Asian Public Intellectual Program, Nippon Foundation, and conducted field research about creative cultural spaces in Osaka, Japan, and Bandung, Indonesia. Currently, he is researcher and coordinator of Inter-Asia School Bangkok ( IAS Bangkok), a network of Inter-Asia School. Viriya host a monthly documentary film program, cultural studies film at Jam, Café and art space, in Bangkok. Also he is a producer/DJ on popular music program at Department of Radio, Thai Public Broadcasting Service ( ThaiPBS Radio).
