Van Schalkwyk, François

independent researcher and consultant in the fields of higher education studies, open data and scholarly communication. He holds a BA(Hons) from the University of Cape Town, an MPhil in Publishing Studies from Stirling University (UK), and an MEd degree from the University of the Western Cape (South Africa). In addition to his academic interests, he is the managing director of the publishing services company, COMPRESS.dsl, and a trustee of the not-for-profit, open access publisher African Minds.
