Manyukhina, Yana

Yana Manyukhina gained her PhD in sociology and social policy in 2016 from the University of Leeds, UK. "I come from an inter-disciplinary educational background, having obtained an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Baku State University, Azerbaijan, followed by an MA in Mass Communications at the University of Leicester, and a PhD in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds, funded by Leeds International Research Scholarship. Moved by a deep interest in the philosophical underpinnings of social science research, I have subsequently embarked on a formal study of philosophy and am currently pursuing a CertHE in Philosophy at Birkbeck, University of London. Previously, I worked as Research Associate on several research projects at the University of Leicester and the University of Manchester, before moving to London where I am now a Research Associate at the newly established Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy (0-11 years). My research interests coalesce around investigations of questions of value and efforts to promote equity, justice, and fairness in educational contexts."
