Grbanovic, Ana Marija
1988
geb. in Slovenia in 1988 and left for Italy in 2005. PhD candidate in History of Islamic Art and Archaeology at the Otto Friedrich Universität Bamberg. Her PhD research pro ject entitled: Ilkhanid Stucco and Tile Revetment in Iran; circa 1300. Function, Meaning and Aestheti c Principles, is supervised by Professor Lorenz Korn. Grbanovic obtained her MA degree in History of Art and Architecture of the Islamic Middle East at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) in 2014. Her MA dissertation entitled: A re-examination of the Ilkhanid buq’a Pir-e Bakran’s decoration and its aesthetics was supervised by Professor Doris Behrens Abouseif. Grbanovic obtained her BA in Preservation of Artistic and Architectural Heritage from the Università degli Studi di Udine in 2012. Grbanovic’s broader academic interests include: Preservation of Architectural Cultural Heritage, use of Computer Technology and Digital Photography for the research of Islamic Art and Architecture, Destruction of Cultural Heritage, Theory of Conservation and Restoration.
