Randall, Ollie A.

1890–1984

Ollie A. Randall, a lifelong advocate of increased care and rights for the elderly, died Wednesday, 26.12.1984 at Allen's Nursing Home in West Kingston, R.I. She was 94 years old. Miss Randall was a founder and former official of the National Council on the Aging, a nonprofit organization formed in 1950. She also helped established the first major senior center in New York, the William Hodson Day Center in the Bronx, and served for 49 years as an adviser and member of the board of directors of the Community Service Society. Miss Randall was born in Driftwood Township, Kan. She grew up in Providence, R.I., and received a bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1912.
