Ali, Ahmad Tajuddin

Chairman of the UEM Group Berhad, a Malaysian infrastructure conglomerate involved in property development, toll highways ownership and operation, engineering and construction, asset and facilities management, and cement manufacturing. He also serves as the President of The Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Joint Chairman of the Malaysian IndustryGovernment Group for High Technology (MIGHT). He was Chairman of the Energy Commission until the end of March 2014. Earlier in his career, Dr. Tajuddin Ali served as the Director-General of Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM), and the Executive Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia’s national power company. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and a doctorate in Nuclear Engineering from the University of London.
