She was from a respected family of Israeli Gur Hasidim; a wife and mother, she was cut off from most of her children after she left the Haredi fold. She left a memoir that was published as a book. She disappeared on June 21 and was found six days later in her car in Ashdod, israel in an apparent suicide; her story started a "national conversation" in Israel.
