Assistant Professor of English at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. James S. Finley received his PhD from the University of New Hampshire. He teaches classes in early and nineteenth-century American literature, environmental literature, and English pedagogy. His scholarship focuses primarily on interrelations of race and the environment in the antebellum US.
