Cha, Yun gyeong

Yun-Kyung Cha is professor of education at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. He is currently serving as the president of the Korean Association for Multicultural Education (KAME). He graduated from Seoul National University and received his Ph.D. in the Sociology of Education at Stanford University and was awarded a National Academy of Education Spencer Fellowship (1991). His research interests focus on comparative and sociological analysis of school curricula, multicultural education, and the institutionalization of teacher education and lifelong education programs. He co-authored School Knowledge for the Masses: World Models and National Primary Curricular Categories in the Twentieth Century (with John Meyer, David Kamens, Aaron Benavot, and Suk-Ying Wong). He has taught courses such as Social Foundation of Education, Education and Social Change, Lifelong Education Methods, and Multicultural Society and Education. Last Updated: May 06, 2014
