Lewis, Peter R.

Peter is a computer science researcher, teacher, hacker and software team mentor. He creates intelligent adaptive software systems, and teaches software development and AI. He also works with software teams, helping them to be happier and more effective. He is a Lecturer at Aston University, where his research focuses on complex computing systems that learn and adapt on an ongoing basis. Peter is also a member of the Aston Lab for Intelligent Collectives Engineering (ALICE), with a particular interest in computing systems that are inspired by the natural world. On top of that he also is CTO of Beautiful Canoe, a company which aims to develop the technology leaders of the future, delivering software projects for a range of clients, while developing the people who do it. Previously, Peter was a Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for Research in Computational Intelligence and Applications (CERCIA) in the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham. His Ph.D., also from the University of Birmingham, proposed a new way to allocate resources in decentralised computing systems, inspired by economics. In addition he holds an MSc in Natural Computation from the University of Birmingham.
