received his MA in German Studies from California State University Long Beach in 2010 and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of California, Irvine. His research interests include Schiller, Goethe, Kleist, Thomas Mann, moral philosophy from the 18th through 20th centuries, and the literature of the common man in the 21st century
