Marise La Grenade-Lashley was born in St. George’s, Grenada in 1959. After obtaining her secondary education from St. Joseph’s Convent and the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School, Marise continued her studies in Canada and was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in French and Spanish from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1982. In 1984, she earned a Master’s degree in Economics from Howard University in Washington, DC and in 1986, a second Master’s degree in Translation from the École de traduction et d’interprétation (ETI), Université de Genève in Switzerland.
